Most women like the fact that high heel dress shoes make them look taller, slimmer and emphasize a curvy calf. A perfectly cute dress can look dowdy, worn with flats, whereas the very same dress takes on a vampy appearance when worn with high heels. If you're going to the beach, a casual sandal with roping on a platform base and ribbon ties winding up the leg is the high heel shoe to wear with a summery dress. A pair of flip flop sandals or sneakers just doesn't make the head-turning fashion statement. Remember the song by Credence Clearwater? "Put on your high heeled sneakers, 'cause we're goin' out tonight ..." There you go. Most men do think that women buy high heel dress shoes to please them. This is true, up to a point. It's also true that women wear high heels to show off their legs as well as their costume when other women glance at them to see if they look as good. Women compete with other women for the men's attention. Spikes are the epitome of high heel dress shoes. Men love spikes and women do wear these just to please their man. It's amazing that women are willing to endure the pain caused by wearing them. No one would go for a walk in the park in such a shoe. Spikes are part of what keeps podiatrists in business, squishing the ball of the foot into an anatomical nightmare position. Worn regularly over a period of years, these good lookers can send you to surgery to correct the damage! Nonetheless, women will continue to wear high heel dress shoes, all for the sake of vanity. We all want to look good, so what's a girl to do? High heels are an essential accessory in our closets. Remember Imelda Marcos? She had over six hundred pairs. Large Variety of High Heel Dress Shoes I am always amazed at the variety of clothes that people find to wear. It seems that everyone brings their unique style to what ever it is they choose to wear. I am always very fashion conscious. I tend to dress in classic clothes rather than trendy fashions. I use accessories to keep my look updated. I look at each piece of clothing that I buy as an investment. I am always making sure that the things I buy can be mixed and matched with other pieces so that it seems that I have a larger wardrobe. I achieve this by buying quality trousers and skirts in basic colors that I can dress up or down with blouses, sweaters and blazers. I also use jewelry, scarves and different high heel dress shoes to make the outfits look different. I have always believed the saying that shoes can make or break an outfit. So many times I will see someone with a very sharp looking business suit and then they have on casual shoes rather than high heel dress shoes. This really takes away from the outfit. There are also the people that wear high heel dress shoes with casual wear. This is usually a fashion mistake that is made by men. I cannot believe the number of times I have seen a man dressed in jeans, sweatshirt and white socks paired with a pair of wingtips or other dress shoes. Then there are the men that put on a pair of shorts but leave on dark socks and dress shoes. People make jokes about this all the time, yet this fashion mistake happens all the time. One of my friends at work and I often joke about people needing to place mirrors in their houses. Other workers in our office refer to us as the fashion police. We are not mean spirited in our assessment of others fashion sense, but we do get some good laughs about what some people choose to wear. One of our co-workers is a very nice person. She is great at her job. Unfortunately she always pants that are too short. Her pants do not fall past her ankle bone. She then wears nylons that often have runs in them and high heel dress shoes. The combination makes her look like she cannot afford new socks or pants that fit. In reality her husband is a judge and she makes a very good income.
